What is Source Connect Now?
Source Connect Now is a free tool from Source Elements that doesn't require anything but a Chrome based web browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc) a strong internet connection (preferably ethernet and high speed), and a link from me!
Once you've clicked the link about, the Source Elements website will as your name as well as the passkey. For this connection, the passkey is: frankv
In the upper right side of the browser window, you will see settings for your audio device input and output. If you don't see the name of your interface there already, click the pull down menu to reveal it. The top menu are your inputs and the bottom are your outputs. For example, if you are on a Focusrite Scarlett Solo, the top should say Scarlett Input 1 (or something similar) and the bottom should say Scarlett Solo Output 1 and 2 (or similar). It may simply have your device name only for both with no designation for input or output. Don't worry if that's the case.
If you needed to make changes in Step 2, then you will need to click "REFRESH WITH NEW SETTINGS" just below the selection. That will refresh your connection to Source Connect Now, and your interface will be live!
At this point, we should be able to hear each other. If you're hearing me through your laptop speakers and not your headphones- double check your input and output settings and don't forget to hit refresh if you need to make an adjustment.
Once we can hear each other properly over Source Connect Now, we're likely echoing on Zoom! I will quickly mute your Zoom feed, since you'll be hearing me and the clients via your Source Connect Now return. You should disconnect your Zoom audio to avoid and echo or bleed. To do this, click the small up arrow next to the Zoom mute button. This will reveal the menu for your audio options. If you scroll all the way to the bottom, you will see "leave computer audio". Clck that! Now your audio is via Source Connect Now, and Zoom is only for video.
YOU GOT THIS! LET'S HAVE A GREAT SESSION!
