Black Friday Blowout: The Best Voice Actor Gear Deals of 2025

Acoustic Treatment
The best microphones and interfaces and useless without solid acoustic treatment and a reflection free, clean sounding booth. While you can always book a Booth Consult to go over your best options and make a plan- here are some materials at every budget to help you get going.

Break up that square or rectangular booth but filling up the corners! This 12 pack of Sonic Acoustics "bass traps" is on sale for just $21.56!
Two inches thick is the minimum you want for treatment, preferably with a high-density foam. But to further vary the acoustics of your space, you might consider something thicker- especially behind you. These 3" thick tiles are a solid option- and on sale for Black Friday at just $27.99 for a 12 pack!
Essentials!
One of the biggest problems I encounter when helping actors troubleshoot their computer issues is a lack of drive space. Audition after audition, your internal drive fills up and eventually cripples your whole system. Expect deep discounts on external hard drives. I have a growing collection of SanDisk SSD drives. They are little dynamos- blazing fast with no moving parts. As of the typing of this post, the 1TB Extreme Portable SSD is $99. I expect these to drop quite a bit more on Friday and Monday. You might even consider a larger one as a Time Machine Backup drive (read more about that here). Just make sure you get one that's twice the size as your internal drive.
If you don't need the portability of those tiny SSD drives, you can always opt for the paperback-sized Lacie drives. This 2TB drive is only $89! I have a pile of these that serve a clones of my SSD drives in case of emergency. They also make a solid Time Machine drive- but can also give you YEARS of voiceover work drive space.
Microphones
Fellow audio engineer and Stellar X2 fan Ken Feldman pointed out that it is currently on sale for just $134.40. That is an insane deal for this mic that has a warm, rich "Neumann" sound. It comes with a hard case, pouch, wind filter (not a pop screen) and shock mount. If your booth is treated properly, this mic will serve you well whether it's your starter mic or forever mic. I own one and absolutely love it.
The ubiquitous Rode NT1 mic is down to $156 as I type this, and I would expect either more savings or bundles that may include a mic stand and headphones. As it is, the package includes a pop filter, shock mount and cable. It's already a great deal- but keep an eye out for bonus bundles!
It's hard to find the "go to" high-end mics at any sort of a discount. The best you can hope for is a bundle of some sort. This Neumann TLM 103 is 10% off. That's a slight discount... but it all counts. Check back in on it and see if it gets any better.
Interfaces
So far this Black Friday (or week of) I'm seeing a lot of artificially inflated prices and less than amazing fake discounts.
For example, the Universal Audio Volt 1- one of my favorite in the sub-$200 interface lineup is "on sale" for $139. I often recommend this to both new voice actors and pros that are new to a home setup. This is a decent price- but it's also the normal price. Let's see if it gets discounted more by the weekend or Cyber Monday!
I am seeing similar numbers with the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen, which is another easy-to-use, budget friendly interface.
