Microphones, Interfaces, Accessories & More
Prime Day is one of the best times of year for voice actors to upgrade their home studios without breaking the bank. Whether you’re just starting out or ready to level up your sound, we’ve rounded up the top gear deals you don’t want to miss. From pro-level mics to budget-friendly interfaces and essential sound treatment, this list is designed to help you make smart, lasting investments in your voiceover career—while the discounts are live.
Let’s dig into the best Prime Day deals for voice actors in 2025! Expect markdowns across a range of gear—and be sure to check back often for updates from July 8–11. It’s a long list, so scroll to the sections that matter most to you.
Working Pros: Must-Have Accessories to Avoid Disasters
If you’ve ever had your setup suddenly fail right before a session, you know how critical it is to have reliable backups. Redundancy isn’t just peace of mind—it’s part of being prepared. Whether for emergencies or building a mobile rig, these affordable accessories are game-changers:
Spare XLR cables: Not every studio setup stays permanently assembled, and repeated wrapping and unwrapping can wear out your cables. XLRs are rugged, but they’re not invincible—interference and failing connectors can sneak up on you. Cables are also the cheapest part of your studio that can take the whole thing down! I’ve written before about how pricey, gold-plated cables are unnecessary—this reliable XLR option is just $7.64, and can save your session in a pinch.
Backup headphones: wear and tear happens to all gear, whether it's expensive or affordable. If you're rocking a set of DT770 Pro headphones (and if you're not- click the link to see how low the price goes!)and you're suddenly not getting signal or getting mysterious cracking- you may need to pivot to a backup set. These Audio-Technica ATH-M20x Monitor headphones are on sale for $59! Plenty of folks use these as their PRIMARY headphones when on a budget.
USB cables for your interface: Sometimes the most frustrating tech issues boil down to… a bad cable. Check what kind of connection your interface needs (USB-C to USB-C? USB-A to USB-C?) and keep a spare handy. This 2-pack of Anker USB-C cables is just $9.99—a small price for a major save during crunch time.
A secondary interface: Affordable doesn’t have to mean unreliable. For newcomers, the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen is a great starting point. For working pros, a backup or travel rig like the IK Multimedia iRig Pro or the Presonus AudioBox 96—currently on sale for $94.99—can keep you recording anywhere, anytime.
Microphones for Every Level
Finding the right mic for your voice, space, and budget can be tricky—but these Prime Day picks offer studio-ready quality at every price point. Whether you’re upgrading from your first USB mic or investing in your forever mic, you’ve got options.

Currently just $159, the Rode NT1 Signature Series delivers the rich, clean large diaphragm condenser tone studios love. It comes with a shock mount, pop filter, mic cover, and XLR cable—a huge value, and now available in multiple colors.
The Stellar X2 is always a great value for the price. Expect this mic to drop in price down to the $159 level for Prime Day. It's currently listed at a higher price- so hold off for now! It comes with a mic pouch, shock mount and solid carrying case. You'll need to add a pop-filter. This is a gorgeous sounding microphone for any stage of your career. I reviewed this for Mix Magazine a while back, and now own one that I love!
Shotgun mics have numerous benefits, and the Sennheiser 416 is a studio standard. The Synco D2 offers solid shotgun performance for voiceover—but fair warning: it’s not quite as universally flattering as the Sennheiser 416. Expect the price to drop from $199 to around $149 during Prime Day.
If you want to have a "forever mic" instead of incrementally improving your setup- then the Sennheiser 416 is going to serve you well. It is a recording studio standard for voiceover work, and if your best bet if you're in a tighter recording space. While it's $999 price tag rarely wavers, you'll often find it bundled on Prime Day, like this option that throws in an XLR cable and a pair of AKG studio headphones (which are both worth having around in case of emergency as previously mentioned!).
While most pro studios and production companies have Neumann U87s in every room, the Neumann TLM 103 is pretty darn close for a lot less money. Like the 416, the price for these doesn't tend to go down- but in the case of this TLM 103, they're throwing in a shockmount and a pop filter. Check back and see if the price drops!
There are so many options in between, but I wanted to share the vetted, tried and true mics that I've dealt with personally in sessions or currently own. You can find a lot more to browse if you want to dig deeper at my Amazon Storefront.
Interfaces for all!
One of my favorite of the low-cost (sub $200) interfaces is the Universal Audio Volt 1, currently $149. It's a solidly built compact interface with a big sound. While it's functionally identical to most interfaces in its range- Universal Audio is throwing in their LUNA DAW and a variety of useful UA plugins to explore. It's also ready to use with your Mac, PC or IPad!
While the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Generation continues to appear for under $100, their 4th Generation interfaces are a significant level up- especially once you beyond the Solo. Sure, as a voice actor you generally only need a single input. But the second input on a 2i2 is not the big news here (although handy if you've got two mics you switch between for jobs). Starting with the 2i2 4th Generation and above, you get some great features like auto gain and clip safe, which help you set a level and avoid clips right in the interface. A benefit across the board includes the upgraded Focusrite Control software. Where the previous version showed a simple mixer and fader with no markings for level, the updated version gives you useable details. This is handy for knowing EXACTLY where you are adjusting your levels for shouting vs. speaking. The Scarlett 2i2 comes bundled with Pro Tools Intro+ (adding a few features that Avid added just for them) plus several other DAWs and plugins to set you on your way.
You'll find several other awesome interfaces on sale for Prime Day at my Proven Winners page. Of note are the Universal Audio Apollo Solo, Apollo Twin, MOTU's often overlooked but fantastic M2 interface, as well as the SSL 2 MKII interface (bundled here with headphones and an XLR cable).
Important Accessories

I've written before about the importance of backing up your Mac using Time Machine, as well as other considerations to record to an external drive so as to not fill up your computer's internal drive. While I continue to use LaCie hard drives for storage, my day to day sessions at home and my daily Carbon Copy Clone and Time Machine backups are now entirely on the super-fase SanDisk SSD drives. I can fit a bunch of them in the pocket up my laptop back so that I always have everything I need with me whether I'm at home or at the studio. This SanDisk 2TB option is currently $149. You should check back to see if the price drops further. While 2TB may seem like a lot, just remember that it's wise to get a Time Machine backups disk that is twice the size of your internal or more.
If you don't plan on carrying drives around, you can save a little money with a LaCie Rugged 2TB option for $104. The rubber casing makes it "drop proof"- but I wouldn't test that out, These will be a little slower than the SSD drives- but still very popular.
Hitting the Road?
Travel rigs are often a big discussion on social media- so much so that I devoted a whole blog post to the topic a while back. Read here for travel tips and secondary gear suggestions. You can also find direct links to my travel recommendation here, including portable booths for when you're staying somewhere for a while, tiny interfaces for Ipad, phone or computer, secondary screens, and even desk clamp mounts to hold light mics like shotguns.
The SnapStudio Booth has thick acoustic blankets around a solid PVC pipe frame. It includes a clamp for ipad/ iphone and a rechargeable LED bulb to hang. It all fits neatly into a duffle bag, which may be easier to transport by car than airline- but could certainly be checked!
The IRig Pro is a palm-sized interface complete with headphone jack, direct monitoring and even supports MIDI! The main benefit over an interface like the Scarlett Solo is size.
The MNN Portable 15.6" Monitor is a an easy to use travel companion if you want a second screen on the go- whether to keep your computer away from you for noise reasons, or to have more real estate for recording and mixing. I love mine! It's on sale now for $61.99. You'll love it so much you'll want to keep using it at home!
A simple, flexible gooseneck like the Lamicall Gooseneck Phone holder can hole a shotgun or other lighter microphones for an easy travel kit.
COME BACK FOR MORE!
That wraps it up! Prime Day is the perfect time to prepare your studio, upgrade your rig, or finally grab that gear you’ve had your eye on. Keep this post bookmarked and check back between July 8–11 for the latest updates and price drops.
Happy shopping—and happy booking!
